Holiday in Dixie is a multifaceted spring festival celebrating its 67th year in the Shreveport area, making it one of the oldest running festivals in Louisiana. HID provides cultural enrichment, family oriented activities, economic development, a celebration of The Louisiana Purchase and most importantly, a spirit of community involvement and pride. The spring festival running from April 12th-April 20th is a full schedule of merriment and activities with “something for everyone”.

Saturday, April 11th the Holiday in Dixie Parade will begin in downtown Shreveport beginning at the Municipal Auditorium and heading east on Milam, north on Market, then west on Texas.

The parade has been unique to the Shreveport – Bossier area for 66 years and continues the tradition of family fun featuring Shriner’s Clowns and cars, Classic Convertibles, Fire Trucks, The National Guard, Bossier City Marshals and Fire Departments, Local School Marching Bands, 6 Floats and more! Once again there will be tons of “throws”, cups and candy showering the crowds that line the streets. These are just a few highlights to grab your attention. Do not miss the Classic Parade on April 12th. Come join us for the time of your life!
